The Rivers and Streams We Fish

Trout

Davidson River

The Davidson River flows through the heart of Pisgah National Forest and converges with the French Broad River in Pisgah Forest.  This freestone stream is divided into two sections:  The lower section is hatchery supported and offers beginners an easier chance to put Trout in the net. Upstream of the confluence of Avery’s Creek is catch-and-release.  This section is a little more demanding but with an accurate cast and a good drift, you’ll have ample opportunity to land some nice Trout!

French Broad River

At the mature age of 260-325 million years old, the French Broad River is one of the oldest rivers in the world.  With its headwaters beginning in Rosman, NC, it originates from several small mountain Trout streams and grows larger from there.  The FBR is one of the rare rivers that flows north.  In this lovely body of water our favorite fish to catch is Muskie!

Backcountry Waters

Backcountry streams and rivers are one of our favorite fishing experiences.  Walking into the forest in search of the best Trout fishing is a satisfying experience for the angler seeking a one-of-a-kind experience.  Bring your hiking shoes and be ready for great scenery and fun!
